Sinful Goat
Concept
A goat symbolizes a sinner. In the ‘Renaissance’ era, image of goat is used as the symbol that distinguished sinners from righteous people4. In my work, a human-faced goat represents a person bound with sins until he is transformed into a monstrous creature. This person cannot stay away from the sinful cycle. He is indulged with lust and all sins.
The scales on the creature’s body are like the armors that we create to protect ourselves. Armors imply to morality. Human beings improvise moral systems in order that everyone will fear sins. However, sometimes, we cannot prevent our senses from being motivated by factors that affect our emotions.
Multiple eyes symbolize frightened people who have committed sins and have to be suspicious all the time until they cannot live happily. The eyes that are falling down to the ground are the symbols of the souls that fall out from bodies.
Two cherubim sleeping inside the goat’s stomach symbolize the soul that cannot run away from all the tempting things. The soul is thus mingling around in the world with anger, fear, greed, indulgence and jealousy. The soul cannot really find any real peace.
The red flower represents life. It symbolizes the life that is born and breathing but, at the same time, it symbolizes blood and loss.
Killer Owl’
Concept
The main form used in this work is the form of an owl because this work represents people who are in the world of darkness. They cannot come into the world of light like they are trapped in the world of emotions and thus cannot stay away from envy, greed and anger which are fundamental emotions of human beings. Likewise, owls are afraid of light and always hide themselves in darkness. Thus, they are used for symbolizing Satan who is the Price of Darkness. It is said that owls lure other animals to hunters’ traps like Satan luring human beings to sins6.
The person with open mouth, trying to swallow something, is the symbol of people who are over-consuming and letting greed possess their souls until they become needy all the time. Even though the person in the picture has swollen many things, he does not feel stuffed. His eyes are being fixed on things to be eaten all the time depict the overwhelming desires and never-ending needs of human beings.
Eyes represent the enlightenment. However, for some people, even though they have multiple eyes, they are unaware of things and unable to stay away from lust.
Tail of the Mermaid
Concept
The image of a mermaid being swallowed by a monster until there is only her tail that comes out of the monster’s mouth depicts the situation where one is overruled by darkness. The mermaid can swim freely in the water but she has to become a prey of the monster. This is like the situation where a person is detained with the suspicious feeling from his wrongdoing. Therefore, this person has fear all the time. Such a wrongdoing haunts the person and hinders him from having happiness. This person struggles like the mermaid who tries to swim with her hands and tails but cannot swim out of the aforementioned difficulties.
The small human-head fish swimming in the ocean represents the travel of human souls that cannot swim away from all the temptations. Therefore, human souls are just trapped in the world of sins and are struggling in anger, greed and fear without any way out.
The eyes that are falling down to the ground are the symbols of the souls that fall out from bodies.

Concept

The sun that is being swallowed by Rahu is like the soul or the decent side of the soul being overwhelmed with darkness in the gradual manner. If the soul is weak, it will be completely possessed with darkness
The head is the highest and most important part of a human body; thus, it is used for symbolizing human beings. Since head is the most important part of the body and can control other organs, it is viewed as the center of life. In the work, the 8 heads that are separated from bodies are representing the lives that have perished.

In this work, wings mea the flying soul that can escape from lust but becomes trapped in the whirlpool of needs. At the same time, wings also symbolize consciousness. People with consciousness can escape from hells but sometimes let themselves overruled by lust which makes them become unconscious and fall deep to the world down under.

Snake Mask
Concept
A mask symbolizes concealment. People wearing masks are people who hide indecent things inside. However, masks cannot hide people’s real selves. People who commit wrongdoings always try to hide their evilness without showing it; however, such evilness will haunt their souls. Consequently, they will have no peace of mind. Evil or sinful minds will drag them down to the pool of emotions such as fear, coldness, frenzy, confusion and restlessness.

Fly Me to the Moon
Concept
Early Christian arts used birds to symbolize the ‘flying souls’. Before an artist draws birds in accordance with their actual looks, all types of birds symbolize spirit which contradicts to materials. Birds have been spiritual symbols since the age of ancient Egypt10. In this work, birds symbolize the flying souls that can escape from lust but are trapped in the cycle of sins. At the same time, wings symbolize consciousness. People with consciousness can escape from hells but sometimes let themselves overruled by lust which makes them become unconscious and fall deep to the world down under.
The moon represents darkness at night. The red moon with a great number of eyes is like evil things that hypnotize souls to remain in the cycle of lust.

Wormhole
Concept
A ‘wormhole’ is believed to be a gate to the past, the future and the far away universe. In the work a wormhole is imitated with two holes on the two opposite sides of a piece of paper. The two holes represent the two spots that are far away from each other in the universe. If we fold either hole to stay upon the other and twist them with time, we might be able to jump into this wormhole in order to go to the time or place afar through the throat of the wormhole that looks like a tube with two spreading out ends. The wormhole in my work is the linkage between the world of reality and the world of sub-consciousness.
Imagined form and story of the wormhole are used for linking the world of reality to the world of sub-consciousness by adapting the perceived forms of human beings, monsters and animals from Buddhist stories in order to depict abstract stages such as hatred, anger, greed and jealousy in hells.
